Greg serves as the Project Director for G2 Consulting Engineers. He provides leadership and general direction for the firm. As a hands-on engineer, Greg is involved with projects from concept design thru construction administration and Owner occupancy. Greg began his engineering career in 1999. After spending eighteen years at a MEP engineering firm where he held the position of Senior Project Manager, he along with his two partners founded G2 Consulting Engineers in 2016.
Throughout Greg’s career he has been involved in numerus large scale Hotel, Convention Center and Casino projects located throughout the United States. His Hospitality experience complements a broader experience with Commercial, Retail, Restaurant, Mixed-used, Educational and Residential projects. Has extensive field experience performing energy audits, indoor air quality studies, facilities assessments, forensic engineering studies, commissioning and troubleshooting MEP systems. Greg’s wide range of design and field experience allows him to bring a unique engineering perspective to projects teams. Greg is able to blend his MEP design expertise, his understanding of energy usage within buildings along with his extensive field experience to deliver MEP designs that perform.
One of Greg’s strongest skills sets is listening to Owners, Architects, Contractors and other key project team members and then delivering MEP designs that meet the team’s goals and expectations. Greg also has a knack for explaining complex engineering concepts in a way the project Team— Owners, Architects, Consultants and Contractors— can understand.
When Greg is not working he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and enjoying all of the great outdoor opportunities Colorado has to offer. If Greg is not engaged in a conversation with a friend or family member you will find him trying to slip in a workout, outside fishing, hunting, or relaxing on a beach.
David serves as the Mechanical Director for G2 Consulting Engineers providing direction and leadership for all mechanical, plumbing and commissioning work. David has more than 15 years of experience and is a founding member of the firm. His career began in Southern California where he was involved with project types ranging from healthcare, commercial, manufacturing, restaurant, retail, education, municipal, and hospitality. David moved to Colorado in 2006 and continued his career with an emphasis in the gaming and hospitality markets among others. His diverse portfolio of projects includes a variety of clients, uses, and building construction types.
Being a Certified Energy Manager, coupled with extensive energy modeling, field and commissioning experience has given David a unique understanding of energy use within buildings.
Being involved in many market segments has helped David develop an awareness of client and project requirements, with a strong focus on details that make a project successful.
Coupling David’s time spent commissioning, energy modeling, and performing energy audits with his design and project management experience has given him a unique perspective of understanding all the critical details involved in the successful integration of HVAC systems into any number of project types.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time in Colorado’s great outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends.
Chris serves as the Electrical Director for G2 Consulting Engineers, which provides direction and leadership for all electrical, low voltage, and architectural lighting design activities. He is also a founding member of the firm. Chris began his career at an electrical engineering firm in Nevada where he held the position of Senior Project Manager. After sixteen years of service at the firm, Chris moved to Colorado pursue additional professional opportunities. During his first five years in Colorado, Chris worked for an MEP engineering firm, eventually serving as the head of their electrical department. In 2016, Chris along with his two business partners, founded G2 Consulting Engineers, Inc.
Chris has focused his career on hospitality design. Throughout his tenure, he has managed and designed many large-scale gaming and hospitality projects across the U.S. This experience has proven vital, as projects of this nature often contain many technical aspects of engineering and design which carry over into additional markets in which Chris has been able to apply this knowledge. It has complemented a career of broader projects types, including mixed-use, education, commercial, housing, restaurant, retail, assessment, master planning, conference and convention centers among others.
Chris’ grasp of power, lighting, architectural lighting, and low voltage systems design together with his ability to effectively communicate and identify client objectives and goals, provide a successful blend of service to our clients. As a testament to this brand of service, Owners, Architects, and contractors routinely return for repeat business. Chris represents a unique combination of engineering fundamentals, communication skills, and proven technical ability with computer aided drafting and BIM programs. He is equally at home in the office or in the field, where he regularly spends time performing due diligence observations, construction administration activities, and commissioning electrical related systems.
When not in the office, Chris enjoys just about everything outdoors. From fly fishing and archery, skiing, to outdoor cooking and spending time outside with friends and family, he can often be found utilizing all the great outdoor opportunities Colorado has to offer.
Dave serves as a Project Manager for G2 Consulting Engineers. He graduated with an Architectural Engineering degree from Kansas State University, and is proficient in designing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. Dave’s multi-discipline background enables him to effectively coordinate all aspects of a project from the beginning of design through construction administration.
Dave worked as a mechanical and electrical engineer at two fast paced MEP firms prior to joining the G2 team. He has experience designing and managing a wide range of projects from large gaming and hospitality projects to small office renovations. Dave has spent a large amount of time in the field trouble shooting existing HVAC problems, conducting MEP field work, performing indoor air quality studies, and commissioning new and existing systems. His broad experience makes him a valuable addition to G2’s design team.
When Dave is not in the office, he tries to rock climb, ski, and fly fish.
Nick serves as G2’s Commissioning Director and Lead Controls Engineer. He works with the owner, design team and contractors to ensure that the project goals are met. These goals include delivering a project on time and within budget.
Nick has 12 years of experience and has served as a designer, project manager and commissioning authority for all types of projects including Hotels, Mixed-Use, Residential, Education, Corporate, Amusement, Healthcare, Commercial, Grocery, Restaurant and Retail projects.
His main strength lies in his ability to document all project information and clearly communicate all roles and responsibilities to the project team from schematic design through warranty. Communication is the key to ensure that the design team contract documents convey all expectations to the construction team through project completion. He works with the contractors to review issues on site, allow them to correct deficiencies, track all items until they are fixed, and then back check to ensure that systems are performing in line with the owner’s expectations. His next step is to develop a relationship with the facility maintenance team to ensure that they have been properly trained on all systems to understand all schedules and modes of operation that will lower utility bills and allow equipment to run as efficient as possible for the life of the building.
Nick has extensive experience dealing with Energy Codes and ensuring that all project documentation is completed on time in order for the facility to obtain their Certificate of Occupancy. At the outset of each project, he will engage the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to discuss code interpretations and pass on all exceptions to the project team.
In his down time, Nick enjoys spending time with family, playing Disc & Ball Golf, coaching Ultimate Frisbee, Swimming, Biking, Longboarding and playing Guitar and Piano.
Kate serves as Senior Electrical Project Manager for G2 Consulting Engineers, providing project management and detail design for electrical power distribution, fire alarm, and lighting systems.
Kate has worked with two respected electrical engineering firms located in Greeley and Fort Collins during her twenty five years of experience prior to joining the G2 team.
Throughout her career, Kate’s expertise has derived from a wide variety of project experience. Each of these opportunities have led her to develop extensive knowledge of many project styles including commercial, institutional, heavy industrial oil and gas, and light industrial water and wastewater projects across the United States. This experience has given her opportunities to develop technical skills that apply to a variety of markets and clients.
Her experience with power distribution ranges from 12 to 15,000 Volts. Kate’s power distribution experience is essential in assessing the client’s energy efficiency needs and her ability to communicate with Owners, Architects and Contractors is essential for project coordination and implementation. Kate’s key skills include communication and field coordination for effective installation success of project construction.
Away from the office, Kate enjoys following her college-aged children as they compete on the golf course and in track and field events and also camping in a newly renovated vintage camper, enjoying the opportunities Colorado has to offer.
Kyle is an Electrical Engineer specializing in power infrastructure. He has been involved with electrical design and
engineering for over 20 years. He is a licensed engineer in the state of Maryland, LEED AP BD+C accredited, and a
CxA (Certified Commissioning Agent).
Kyle brings a broad scope of expertise including an extensive design engineering background which includes power,
lighting, and special systems for data centers, higher education, retail, healthcare, laboratories, and government
projects. He has also provided project constructability reviews, analyzing the compatibility, function, and
performance of planned electrical systems. Kyle enjoys forensic evaluations and solving complex problems
associated with electrical infrastructure.
He is an avid sports fan who enjoys watching and sometimes attending events such as baseball, football, hockey, and
auto racing. He also enjoys spending time outdoors whether it is playing a round of golf or relaxing on a beach.
Tony has a wealth of experience in the construction industry, having worked in Hawaii, Colorado, and Las Vegas for nearly 27 years. He has worked as a mechanical and plumbing designer and a Senior project manager. Tony has been involved in a variety of projects, from high end hospitality to government design-build projects of varying sizes and complexities. His notable projects include Washington Headquarters Services in Alexandria Virginia, Fort Hood Hospital in Texas, and Resorts World in Las Vegas.
Outside of work life, Tony enjoys working on cars, all types of outdoor activities including, camping, hiking, fishing, golf and spending time with his family and friends.
Kalib has worked as a mechanical design engineer for the past eight years readily working with the design team to complete jobs on time and within budget. His project experience includes new construction and building renovations of commercial spaces, education, health care, and residential. With his wide range of project experience, Kalib has a working knowledge of many different mechanical systems.
Kalib’s skills include building load calculations, mechanical system design, duct sizing and layout, hydronic piping sizing and layout, plumbing design, building energy simulations, drafting using AutoCAD and Revit.
Outside the office Kalib enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, hanging out with friends, playing golf, and racing his Shelby GT500.
Hannah serves as an Electrical Engineer for G2 Consulting Engineers. She graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree in May of 2018, from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with a focus in Power Engineering. Previous to graduation, she worked as an intern training her skills in power, lighting, architectural lighting, site lighting, fire alarm system, and low voltage systems. Having worked with the designs of various types of buildings, such as commercial, industrial, medical, education and government, Hannah brings a unique broad perspective to our Electrical Department.
Hannah chose her field because she is a hands-on learner and has always been intrigued by the way things work. She enjoys the challenge that comes with each project and loves being part of the process to build physical structures that can be seen and used for years to come.
Having played D1 volleyball in college, Hannah spends most evenings playing volleyball, while spending her weekends in the mountains all throughout Colorado, hiking 14ers and camping. She also enjoys biking, running, rollerblading and traveling the world but also enjoys bingo and trivia nights offered at the local eateries Northern Colorado has to offer. She was born and raised in Plainwell, Michigan and is very much in love with dogs.
Anna serves as a Mechanical Engineer for G2 Consulting Engineers. She has a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University with an emphasis in mechanical systems.
Prior to joining the G2 team in 2018, Anna has worked as a mechanical intern at a variety of offices across the country. She has experience designing a wide range of projects to include high-rise offices and apartments, higher education, manufacturing facilities, corporate offices, hospitality, and small tenant renovations. Anna’s skills include mechanical system design, load calculations, and is experienced in AutoCAD and Revit.
Outside of the office, Anna enjoys spending time with friends and family, spending time outdoors, fencing, hiking, and skiing.
Having 4 years of experience in the industry, Brett has engineering design knowledge in both Mechanical and Plumbing systems in a wide range of sizes and applications. Brett graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has spent most of his time in Las Vegas where most of his projects have taken place. Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis is a specialty that Brett has completed for projects ranging from NHL Hockey Arenas, Casino Night Clubs, and Indoor Water Parks; with CFD being something Brett looks forward to pursuing further at G2 Consulting Engineers. Some of Brett’s hobbies include traveling, restoring classic cars/trucks, trying new foods and all things Disney.
Austin serves as a Mechanical Designer for G2 Consulting Engineers. Austin graduated from Kansas State University in 2020, with a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering and a Business Minor. He has proficiently learned the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Prior to joining G2, Austin has worked as a mechanical/plumbing intern with a few different offices in the Midwest. He was an intern with G2 the summer before becoming a full-time employee. He has experience in a variety of project types, which include: office buildings, tenant renovations, hospitals, casinos, apartments, residential, and hospitality. Austin has experience with technology and drafting tools such as Revit, AutoCad and Bluebeam. He enjoys running load calculations, sizing, selecting, and laying out various building systems. He likes working through a project with the whole design team, owners, and architects.
In Austin’s spare time he enjoys staying active through sports, working out, farming/ranching back on the family farm, and spending time with friends and family.
Bjorn graduated from Kansas State University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in mechanical and plumbing systems.
Prior to joining the G2 team as a mechanical designer, Bjorn spent a summer as a mechanical design intern and over a year as a full time mechanical and plumbing designer. His skills include system calculations, ducting and piping design, and utilizing drafting tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
Outside of the office, Bjorn enjoys snowboarding, climbing, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
Merrik graduated from Kansas State University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in power and lighting. Prior to joining our team as an electrical designer, Merrik spent multiple summers interning at MEP design firms, including G2 the summer prior to starting full-time. He is currently an EIT after passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in 2022.
In his free time Merrik enjoys spending time in the sun, playing a variety of sports, and cooking.
Owen graduated from Kansas State University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in mechanical systems. Prior to joining our team as a mechanical designer, Owen interned at an MEP design firm in the Midwest during the summer and school year. He is currently an EIT after passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in 2021. In his free time Owen enjoys spending time with friends, being outdoors, reading, and working restoring classic cars.
James graduated from Kansas State University with an Architectural Engineering Degree. Prior to joining the G2 team, James completed two electrical engineering internships in both Dallas, TX and Manhattan, KS.
When James isn’t working, he enjoys hiking and spending time at the lake with his family and friends.
Troy serves as G2’s Commissioning Agent. He brings over 20 years of field experience including certifications for central plant equipment including chillers, boilers and pumps. He has a low voltage license in the state of Wyoming and had a mechanical license in Rapid City South Dakota. He has an associates degree in refrigeration and air conditioning technology and has extensive knowledge of Indoor Air Quality. His family has worked on building systems for 3 generations and he has experience on all project types from gas stations to hospitals.
Troy has been on-call with facilities teams including Rapid City Regional Hospital. He has performed retro-commissioning on a variety of projects including. Western Dakota Technical College, Rapid City Wastewater Treatment Plant and Spearfish City Hall. He has been the project manager for several multi-year service contracts for school districts, medical centers, restaurants and grocery stores. He has an extensive knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration controls systems and works with the controls contractors to ensure that point-to-point commissioning is performed accurately and with a high degree of workmanship.
When Troy is not working, you can find him riding his motorcycle or reading a book. He enjoys spending time with his family and can fix pretty much anything that needs a little attention.
Anthony has been working as a CAD/BIM technician for 15+ years. Anthony is familiar with most disciplines including architecture, civil, structural, and has been in MEP Engineering for the past 8 years.
Anthony enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and never turns down the opportunity to watch a good movie.
Kyle graduated from Aims Community College with an AS in Engineering Technology in 2019. Kyle is relatively new to the field but loving every minute of it. In his spare time, Kyle loves spending time with friends and family. Kyle stays active with softball and volleyball leagues and also likes to wakeboard and snowboard whenever he gets the chance.
Nikki is the Office Manager for G2 Consulting Engineers. Since she joined the firm, she maintains accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly billings. Additionally, she provides any other administrative support to her team that will ensure the daily operations run smoothly. Nikki graduated with a BA from the University of Wyoming in 1997, and has been living in Colorado ever since. In her free time, Nikki enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband, her two children, and their two miniature schnauzers.
